SIMAD University is a private university in Mogadishu, established in 1999, making it one of the longer-running private universities in the country. Its nine faculties cover medicine and health sciences, computing, management, accountancy, economics, education, social sciences, engineering, and law — with programs ranging from digital marketing and entrepreneurship to architecture and international relations. SIMAD's motto, "Knowledge for Development," reflects its emphasis on programs tied directly to Somalia's development needs.
